General

Scholarships are made possible by the generosity of alumni, donors, organizations, and community partners who want to support student success. Each scholarship has its own criteria, but one application allows you to be considered for all Black Hawk College East Campus scholarships you qualify for.

Scholarship applications are accepted each year from March 15 through May 31.

You don’t need to choose. When you submit the online scholarship application, you are automatically matched with all Black Hawk College East Campus scholarships you qualify for based on eligibility criteria. This ensures you’re considered for every applicable opportunity without needing to apply to each scholarship individually.

Application

All scholarship applications are completed online. The application is open each year from March 15 through May 31.

No. You only submit one application. The system automatically matches you with all scholarships you qualify for based on eligibility criteria.

The application deadline is May 31. To ensure fairness to all applicants, applications are not accepted after the deadline.

In fairness to all applicants, late applications cannot be accepted. Some scholarships recommended by faculty or staff are awarded through a separate selection process.

You’ll need a Black Hawk College student ID number to apply.

  • Current students already have a student ID
  • Prospective students must apply to Black Hawk College first
  • Allow up to two weeks to receive your student ID

Applying to Black Hawk College does not obligate you to attend.

Apply to Black Hawk College

  • An official high school transcript (7th semester) or college transcript for transfer students
  • A completed FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Visit the FAFSA website

Make sure the College has your most recent official transcripts on file.

Yes. Students may qualify for — and receive — more than one scholarship, depending on eligibility and availability of funds.

If you’re selected for a scholarship, you’ll have an opportunity to confirm enrollment details before funds are applied to your account.

Awarding

Scholarship awards are typically announced in July. Recipients are notified by the Black Hawk College East Foundation via email using the address provided on the application.

Scholarship awards are applied directly to your Black Hawk College account and are divided equally between the fall and spring semesters.

Some scholarships are one-time awards, while others may be renewable. Renewal details are shared at the time of award.
